There is a new face taking over the SPEAKeasy blog! That’s me, Sarah King, and I am excited to be the newest edition of the Eisbrenner PR team. I have the pleasure of following in the footsteps of all previous Eisbrenner PR interns before me in taking over this blog for the duration of my internship.
Now let me jump right in and give you a little background on my life and how I ended up here.
I recently graduated from Central Michigan University and received my degree in integrative public relations and event management with a social media certification (quite the mouthful to say).
Mount Pleasant, Michigan, (which contrary to the name, has no mountains) provided me with plenty of opportunities during college to gain new skills and step out of my comfort zone. When I wasn’t in Moore Hall for class or a meeting, I could usually be found at one of two places: the Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority house serving as chapter president or at football games with the Chippewa Marching Band.
I am excited to add my internship here at Eisbrenner PR to my repertoire of internship experiences. Previously, I served as a communications intern at the Detroit Zoo, a marketing and events intern at Hour Media, and a brand awareness intern at Girls on the Run of Central Michigan.
Even though I have yet to finish unpacking, I now am living the post-grad dream of moving back home with my parents in Washington, Michigan. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my dachshund pup Herbie or going to a Detroit Red Wings game downtown.
My experiences with the Eisbrenner PR team are just beginning, but I am so excited for what’s to come. Not only do I get to learn from a motivated and hardworking team while doing what I want to make a career of, but I also get to learn all about the automotive, technology and energy industries. Maybe now I can keep up with my dad and older brother when they talk about these things at the dinner table.
I am excited share all my learning experiences and maybe a little #PRWisdom with you all along the way as I spend my time at Eisbrenner PR. Tune in for more blog entries by yours truly on all things public relations, post-grad life and everything in between.
